Participant Information

The first weekend of October, we are finally ready to welcome tens of thousands of participants to the Förbifartspremiären, a unique opportunity to experience the new E4 bypass.

Here you will find important information and preparations to keep in mind before the event. We encourage all participants to read through this information in advance so it will be easier to find your way and arrive in good time for your start.

Bib & Check In Pass

You will receive your bib number in one of two ways:

  • It will either be delivered to your home by post, or

  • You will collect it at the event area on event day.

You cannot choose the delivery method yourself. It depends on where you live and whether our supplier can deliver to your address.

To check how you will receive your bib:

  1. Create an account with Marathongruppen if you do not already have one.

  2. Log in to view your upcoming events and manage your settings.

  3. Open your registration for Förbifartspremiären.

  4. Verify that your personal details, email address and postal address are correct.

  5. Click the green button marked "Download Check In Pass".

  6. The Check In Pass will state whether your bib will be delivered by mail.

If it says YES

Your bib will be delivered by Premo.

  1. Wait for an email from Premo containing additional information and a tracking link.

If it says NO

You must collect your bib at the event area on event day.

  1. Bring your digital Check In Pass on your phone.

  2. Present it at the bib distribution tent.

If it says nothing

If your Check In Pass does not mention your bib number, or you have not yet been assigned a race number:

  1. Don't worry. Your registration has been received.

  2. Your bib number simply not yet been allocated, but will be soon!

  3. You will collect your bib at the event area.

Important

  • Every participant will receive a Check In Pass.

  • It will be available online and sent by email.

  • Your entry is personal and cannot be transferred to another participant.

  • If you registered multiple participants, their registrations will also appear in your account.

Your start number and selected start time will appear in your account once assigned. We recommend using the digital version of your Check In pass to ensure you always have the most recent version.

Wearing Your Bib

  • Wear your bib visibly on your chest throughout the event.

  • Attach it to your outer clothing with safety pins.

  • Do not fold or cover the bib.

  • The timing chip is attached to the upper section and should point slightly away from the body for accurate timing (this does not apply to the Walking Class, which is untimed).

  • On the reverse side, you may write your name, phone number, medications and medical conditions. This information may assist medical personnel if needed.

Arrive Early

Expect queues for:

  • Bib collection

  • Information tent

  • Toilets

  • Bag drop

  • Entry to the start area

We recommend arriving at least one hour before your start time.

Travel & Getting There

We strongly recommend walking, cycling or using public transport to the event area, as the event significantly restricts local car traffic. The recommended public transport option is:

  • Stockholm Metro Blue Line 11 to Akalla Station. Use the Finlandsgatan exit.

If you travel by car:

  • Park at Kistamässan.

  • Shuttle buses will run between the parking area and the event site. Se time schedule to the event area here. Time schedule back to Kistamässan you’ll find here.

  • Signage will guide you from the shuttle stop.

Road Closures

  • Vandagatan will be closed to traffic as an event street for four days.

  • Hanstavägen will operate with temporary two-way traffic and delays should be expected.

  • Again, participants arriving by car are encouraged to park at Kistamässan and use the shuttle service.

Event Area

See the map of the event area. Follow signage and instructions from event staff. Need help?

  • Check information boards.

  • Ask an event marshal wearing a pink vest.

  • Visit the information tent on Finlandsgatan.

Meet the Swedish Transport Administration

Near the start area, Trafikverket will showcase updates about E4 Förbifart Stockholm and answer questions.

Food & Beverage

The event area includes a café and some food trucks

Bag Drop

A bag-drop service is available. You will receive two wristbands:

  • One attached to your bag.

  • One worn on your wrist.

To collect your bag after finishing, show the matching numbers. Participants must bring their own bag. A waterproof cover is recommended in wet weather since bags are stored outdoors. Avoid bringing valuables.

Toilets

Toilets are available:

  • Throughout the event area

  • Along the route

  • At selected locations on the course

There are no changing facilities, so please arrive changed and ready.

Meeting Points

Participants and spectators should agree on a meeting point in advance after the race. The café area is recommended for groups using the metro or shuttle buses.

The following are directed to the Walking Class:

The following are not allowed:

Medical Service

First-aid teams will be stationed:

  • In the event area

  • At water stations along the course

Do not participate if you are unwell, have a cold, or feel ill. Consult medical staff before the start if you are unsure about participating.

Health Comes First

We want to see you on October 3, but not at the expense of your health. Do not run if you are sick or feeling unwell. Running while ill can pose significant health risks.

Start Procedure

Your start time and start group are printed on your bib. Se a chart of the starting times here.

Participants enter the starting gate according to scheduled admission times. A large screen will display which group is currently being admitted. Groups are released in smaller waves from the start corral to ensure a smooth start.

For the competitive class, we will first admit T1. After that, T2 will be admitted in five separate groups at five-minute intervals. A standard first-come, first-served queueing system will be used for T2.

There will be no instructor-led warm-up, but music and entertainment will accompany participants on their way to the start area.

Course

There are three route options:

  • Approximately 4 km

  • Approximately 7 km

  • Approximately 12 km

The course consists entirely of asphalt. Competitive Class participants run the 12 km route. Recreational Class participants choose which finish exit to take after approximately 4, 7 or 12 km. Course marshals and kilometre markers are provided throughout the route. Walking classes are participating in 4 km distance.

Elevation

The 4 km route has a total elevation gain of 72 m. (For comparison, the climb from Söder Mälarstrand to Norr Mälarstrand via Västerbron is about 2 km long and has a total elevation gain of approximately 30 m.)

The 7 km route has a total elevation gain of 82 m.

The 12 km route has a total elevation gain of 154 m, which is roughly the same amount of climbing as the adidas Stockholm Half Marathon, but over half the distance.

See course details here.

Water Stations

Water stations are located at approximately:

  • 2 km

  • 5 km

  • 9.5 km

Only water will be served along the course. Participants requiring energy products must bring their own nutrition.

Timing

All Competitive and Fitness Class participants receive official chip timing.

Timing begins when crossing the start line and ends when crossing the chosen finish line. This net time reflects your actual running time.

Keep Right, Pass Left

If you slow down, please stay to the right side of the course. Faster participants should pass on the left. If running in a group, avoid spreading across the width of the road.

Entertainment Along the Route

Participants will be cheered on by:

  • Volunteers

  • Supporters

  • Music and entertainment

Since spectators have no access to the course, runners are encouraged to support one another throughout the event.

Results & Podium Awards

Only participants in start group T1 of the first competitive start are eligible for podium places.

Awards will be presented for:

  • Women's 1st, 2nd and 3rd place

  • Men's 1st, 2nd and 3rd place

The awards ceremony takes place at 10:00 near the press tent and is open to the public. Live results will be published throughout the day as participants cross the finish line.

Finish Area Services

Upon finishing, participants receive:

  • An official Förbifartspremiären medal

  • Better You protein water

  • A Corny bar

Children under 15 receive a fruit drink.

Help Us Keep the Event Clean

Marathongruppen and Sortera work together to make events more sustainable.

Recycling stations are located throughout the event area and near the start and finish zones. Participants are encouraged to sort their waste correctly and use the designated recycling points.

Thank you for helping make the event more sustainable.
